Bone Tide Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 4, 2026 Last updated: August 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Bone Tide LLC, a Georgia limited liability company doing business as Bone Tide Co. (“Bone Tide,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Bone Tide mobile application, our website at bonetideco.com, and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by Bone Tide LLC (dba Bone Tide Co.). Mailing address: PO Box 163, Brooklet, GA 30415. Email: support@bonetideco.com. Website: bonetideco.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide: account and authentication data (when you sign in with Apple or Google we receive an identifier and, depending on your choices, your name and email, which may be an Apple private-relay address; we never receive your password); your profile and content (display name, catches, photos, notes, comments, and messages); and communications you send us.
Collected automatically: precise location (with your permission, to power tide, bite, and spot features); and usage, device, and log data (app interactions, device type and OS, app version, identifiers, diagnostics, and logs).
From features you use: catch and logbook data (species, length, bait, photos, timestamps, and associated locations); AI Fish Scan and regulations inputs (photos and questions you submit are sent to our third-party AI provider); rewards and activity (bones, streaks, rankings); your social graph (follows, followers, friends, blocks, reports); subscription status (we do not receive or store your full payment card number; payments are processed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat); and push tokens if you enable notifications.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide, operate, and improve the Service; generate forecasts, bite scores, and tides for your location; run the bones/rewards program, the Gear Shop, and the Tide Kings contest; manage accounts, subscriptions, and community features; personalize your experience and send push notifications you have enabled; maintain safety and security and prevent fraud and abuse; respond to your requests; and comply with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that operate the Service on our behalf, including Railway (hosting and database), Cloudinary (image hosting), a third-party AI provider (Fish Scan and regulations), Apple and Google (authentication and payments), RevenueCat (subscription management), NOAA and weather/radar/wind providers such as Windy (environmental data), and Amazon Associates (affiliate attribution); with other users (information you choose to make public, and content you share such as direct messages and follows); for legal and safety reasons when necessary; and in connection with a business transfer subject to this Privacy Policy.
5. Location information
We use your precise location to power tides, the Good Bite Score, spot features, radar, and wind. You can grant or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; revoking it will limit location-dependent features. Locations you associate with public spots or catches may be visible to other users.
6. Your choices and rights
Control location and notifications in your device settings. Edit or delete your content, manage public/private settings, and block or report other users. You can delete your account and associated personal data; some information may be retained as required for legal, security, backup, or record-keeping purposes. California residents (CCPA/CPRA) have the right to know, access, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing”; we do not sell your personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make any request, email support@bonetideco.com.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed we delete or de-identify it.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your device and account credentials, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 18 you may use the Service only with a parent’s or guardian’s consent. 11. Third-party links and services
The Service links to and integrates third-party services and content (including affiliate links, embedded radar/wind, and app-store billing). Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party practices.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
